Terms of service
Last updated
These terms are the agreement between you and Pawnanigans. They cover what you can expect from the service, what we expect from you, and what happens if either side wants to walk away. Please read them — using Pawnanigans means you accept them.
Who can use Pawnanigans
You need to be at least 16 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian read these terms with you.
One person, one account. You are responsible for everything that happens under your login, so keep your password to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has it.
Your account
We ask you to confirm your email address before you can post, comment or join a pack. That is how we keep the community made of real people.
You can close your account whenever you like from your settings. Closing it removes your profile and your posts from the app; some records are kept for a while where the law requires it, and we explain which in the privacy policy.
What you post stays yours
Your photos, captions, routes and health records belong to you. Posting them here does not change that.
You do give us permission to store your content, show it to the people you chose to share it with, and make the copies and resized versions needed to run the service — nothing beyond that. We do not sell your posts and we do not licence them on to anyone else. The permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.
Community rules
Everything on Pawnanigans is somebody else’s feed. Do not post:
- Animal cruelty, neglect, or content that encourages either.
- Harassment, threats, or attacks on people because of who they are.
- Sexual content, graphic violence, or anything illegal.
- Spam, scams, or impersonation of another person or business.
- Veterinary or safety claims you know to be false. Pet health misinformation gets people’s animals hurt.
- Other people’s photos, words or private information without their say-so.
Anyone can report a post, a comment or an account. Reports go to a human moderator, who can hide the content, remove it, issue a warning, or dismiss the report. Every decision is recorded with the reason behind it. Content reported by several people independently may be hidden automatically until a moderator has looked at it.
Serious or repeated breaches can cost you your account. We will tell you why, unless doing so would put someone at risk.
Safety alerts and other people’s advice
Hazard alerts, trail conditions and place recommendations come from other members, not from us. We do not verify them. Treat them as a neighbour’s tip, not as an authority — check conditions yourself before you set out.
Nothing in the app is veterinary advice. The health vault is a place to keep records and reminders; it does not diagnose anything. If your animal is unwell, call a vet.
Adventures and location
Route tracking only runs when you start an adventure, and you decide who sees the result. Be thoughtful about sharing routes that start at your front door — a public map of your daily walk says a lot about where you live and when you are out.
You are responsible for your own safety and your animal’s while you are out. Watch the trail, not the phone.
Free and paid plans
The free plan is genuinely free and stays that way. Paid plans add features for a pack and are billed monthly or yearly, in advance, through our payment processor.
A subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from billing settings: you keep the paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
If we ever raise a price, we will tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel instead of accepting it. We refund where the law says we must, and we will look kindly at anything that goes obviously wrong on our side.
Availability
We work to keep the service up, but we do not promise it will never be down. Features change, and occasionally one is retired; if we retire something you rely on, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export what you have stored.
Where our responsibility ends
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for what other members post, or for anything that happens on a walk you took. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page when the terms change and move the date at the top. For a change that materially affects you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using Pawnanigans after that means you accept the new version.
